Forearm hurting?
 

Hi just recently right forearm has started to hurt, about 2 inches away from my wrist. My left hand is just a little weak but not as bad as the right. This effects also how much I can grasp things as well. I have been using new specialized comp gloves and this may be part of the reason. So I have 2 questions, is there someway I can get a replacement for the gloves or am I just stuck with them? And what are solutions to prevent or fix my forearm from hurting? Thanks

Maybe it's just me, but I really doubt your gloves would be causing your forearm to hurt. My guess (and that's all it is) is that you've got too much weight on your hands, have you been fitted or ever looked into proper bike fitting?

sadly not yet. Bike fittings around here run about $150-200 around here, and right now I don't have a job so I can't really get one. I guess I'll just have to experiment by adjusting parts of my bike and hope for the best.

It's tough to say without checking out a fit. Pedaling harder, seriously, will reduce the amount of pressure on your paws. When I go out riding with my kids for an hour at 70W, my hands start to hurt pretty bad. When I go on a hard training ride for an hour at 300W, my hands feel fine. See what you can do with your position to reduce pressure on your hands a bit. You only touch the bike in three places, and you can adjust the pressure in one place to affect pressure in the other places.

It may not be the bike though.

i had a problem earlier in the season with my forearm getting number and feeling weak made it go away by moving the saddle forward a little and pulling my brifters a little further back towards me on the bars , recently though i have been getting a shooting pain in my left arm esp when standing , soimething is hitting the sciatic nerve there ?sheldon browns site has some info on fitting too btw
