Anyone have a Vanilla Bicycle?
I find myself looking at the website again and again and again... I am not sure I have ever seen bicycles quite so beautiful. Anyone here have one? How long did it take? How does it ride?

I don't have a Vanilla but I was so impressed with the paint work, I'm having my '04 Lemond Tete de Course custom painted by the same guy - Acme painting in Portland. The wait on the paint job alone is 3 months. The wait on the bikes is well over a year now.
Here in Portland, we do see them from time to time on club rides and at events - they are amazing bikes - Sacha does a wonderful job. 55/Rad |
and we can't wait to see it (the lemond was sweet before, but acme will make it sing).

there's a sweet vanilla fixie at critical mass in nyc now and then finished in a sweet pearl white.

Those bikes are almost too pretty to ride.

My friend owns the light green tourer with the burnt orange bag that's on the vanilla site. In person his bike is bike porn at it's best .

A year is a long time to wait... of course, it is surely worth it.

I do. Mine is Bike 3 on the commuter page.... not that it's a commuter, but it IS a great bike. Fits like a glove, rides like a dream. 600km brevet with no aches at all. A great bike.

Man! I really love the details they put on them! The dropouts alone are impressive.

Man, are those nice bikes. Drool drool drool.

i was going to get one of their track frames about a year ago, before i decided to move out to berkeley and i wasted all my savings living here without being able to find a job...oh well...someday...

I have been looking at these bikes as I've been trying to familiarize myself with many of the hand-made custom builders. I think they are the prettiest bikes I've seen bar none. I'd love to hear more about the ride and any aspects other than aesthetic from owners.

Here's mine. Fillet-brazed True Temper S3, size 57cm. Record, this and that. A few changes since this pic was taken - different wheels, Arione saddle.
I was lucky, I caught a spot on his build schedule that was open and received mine in about 90 days. When I went back a week later to order a second one, the wait was 13 months. It's a nice bike, but no bike is worth waiting a year for. |

Is it a Fizik?
|
It's a Fizik Pavé.
Brown ones are hard to find, mine came from eBay. |
yep.

I just got my Vanilla! I waited a whole year "patiently" for it. Besides that gave me time to figure out what color I wanted it :)
I got the vanilla signature "v" drop outs on the frame.. it's gorgeous! |
Lucky bastard. ;)
