Garmin Edge 500 activity > HELP !<
Here is the deal.
I just got the new garmin 500, used it for my first crit of the year and I FORGOT TO HIT THE LAP BUTTON!! Now, my activity file has just 1 huge lap... I can't see the splits... So finally here is the question: How can I add the lap position to the activity file? I am using the garmin.connect site to view the data and I have not tried any other software yet. |
i do not believe you can alter the data to add laps after the fact. especially with just Garmin Connect. later.

I think there is an autolap function that records a lap whenever you pass the starting GPS coordinates (there is on the 705 and I assume the same for the 500). Set this for next time, and you should be fine. If you're able to remember to hit the lap button every time you pass the s/f, you're not racing hard enough anyway.

The autolap is programmed for 1 mile intervals, otherwise you must hit the lap button to override that feature.
I changed it to manual mode where you hit lap once and then it auto-laps each time you go over the same spot. |
If you need to know and are willing to do a little bit of calculating you can find the start/finish line coordinates. Then go into your software and mark down the time every time you are passing those coordinates. Then put the numbers in a spreadsheet and calculate lap times.

SportTracks has the ability to add laps to your ride.
