I have better luck with headsweats type skull caps. I sweat through the Halo headbands pretty quick, but the headsweats seem to wick and dry enough that it isn't an issue.

Hmmm, I was going to get a gutr a while back but the local vendor was out. Sweat-slicked glasses covered in dust and road grime are dangerous while bombing 50+ mph mountain descents. I wouldn't drive my car with a crapped up windshield but somehow I manage to do it on a bike. Call me fred all you want but I can't hear sounds coming from behind me at those speeds. (It's the internet, so it has to be true. )

I used one for a year and a half. It worked. Then it broke. Now I don't use one.

The Gutr has been hanging in the garage for a while now and recently I noticed that the clear plastic material has now deteriorated into a yellowish translucent thing. Also it is now very sticky. Something leached out or I didn't rinse off all the sweat.
I think the Gutr is better suited for other sports without a helmet like tennis or running. Hiker's usually wear a cap but at least the cap is not tight fitting as a cycling helmet.

During the summers in Arizona, I sweat profusely. Sweat runs down into my eyes.
I've tried both the Halo headband and the Gutr headband. The Halo sweatband becomes saturated and sweat still runs down my face. The Gutr headband works well in directing the sweat to the sides of my face.
I highly recommend the Gutr.

I have one. It interferes with the helmet. That Gutr is like the material used for swimmers in a pool. You know, like the speedo types. So the material is thick and kind of stiff. That's why I say it interferes with the helmet. The Gutr ended up sliding off or the helmet was so tight that I had to adjust it to accomodate the Gutr.

The Gutr works well, not perfect, but it keeps the majority of sweat from my eyes during a humid summer day. Especially wearing glasses, it's nice to divert the perspiration. It fits fine on my Giro helmet. Sometimes if the seating is off on your forehead there is some leakage but for the most part it seals against your forehead and diverts the sweat above to the sides of your face. Of course, there is still some perspiration from your brows and below the gutr line that will invariably drip but it's much better than without.
I like the gutr much more than a fabric band because it's easy to wash and I don't have this wet band to carry around. Give it a try it's only a few dollars.

Yes, it is the only saturation proof sweatband I have found. Another advantage is that it does not trap heat and make you even hotter since it has an open top. They also offer a money back guarantee if purchased through their web site. There is a testimonial from an Aussie as well - the President of the Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club in Sydney on their web site. If the Gutr overflows because your head is down just lift it or tilt to one side and it will instantly drain and the thing is basically dry after you ride no stinky sweatband to deal with. Cheers!

I got mine. I've tested it on the trainer and it worked great (cold enough that it is not needed outdoors yet). I was able to slip it up under the rim of my helmet too - I'm a secret fred. Bell large with a 61cm noggin.

When it first came out I thought this was something that was created for the movie "Dune" to work with those black suits.

I've used them.
They work very well for running, but only so-so for cycling. The design works best if you head is upright based on my experience. If your head is down (while cycling), the 'gutter' doesn't really drain properly. It works well enough that I still use it on hot days.

By far the best is the Halo sweatband, IMO.
