Good experience with Ribble Cycles

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good experience with Ribble Cycles

I ordered a few items from Ribble Cycles about a month ago. Nothing too spectacular, just a few chains, a pair of Assos bibs, and miscellaneous brake bolts. I also added a set of Crud Roadracer fenders because I heard good things about them but could never get them in the US. My order arrived in about a week and everything's good, except that the fenders, still in their packaging, were partially crushed and broken.

I took some detailed pictures showing the new but broken fenders, and shot an email with the pictures to Ribble Cycles a week after New Year's day. I explained that the fenders arrived crushed and were therefore useless. I also explained that I believe they didn't pack it adequately since the shipping box was intact and I did have relatively high-density items like the Campagnolo chains in the same shipment.

A few days passed and there was no reply of any sort from them. I then got busy and promptly forgot about the whole issue. This week, I was surprised by a package from the UK. I didn't know who from the UK would send me anything until I opened the box and found a new set of Crud fenders! Ahhh...Ribble Cycles had came through for me. The replacement fenders were very well-packed this time and arrived with nary a scratch.

So, I would like to publicly say that Ribble Cycles did do right by me. I would have preferred that they kept me in the loop after my email went through, but I am nevertheless very satisfied with the outcome.

This is my sample-size-of-one experience. Usual disclaimers about no affiliation with Ribble Cycles apply.
