Can 09 Centaur 10-speed work with a pre quick shift Front Derailleur
Crashed Saturday and destroyed my Right 06 Record shifter. I'm stuck buying a set and pre QS front Derailleurs don't work with 07 and 08 QS shifters, so I thought maybe the new Centaur does. It would be nice to get away with not buying a new Derailleur too.

this might be better posted in the mechanics forum:

but, why not just try 'em first?

You can use any Campy FD with a QS or pre-QS shifter. All QS does to the shifter is reduce some of the dead travel from the left finger lever.
The new 2009+ Centaur ultrashift lever should work with any Campy FD too. Just be sure that you get a shifter that is a late '09 or '10 model. Those have the newly revised and firmer click from the right finger lever.
I'm using an '08 Chorus QS FD with 2009 Centaur shifters. The new ultrashift levers still have 6 clicks from the left finger lever with enough cable pull to operate a triple FD, but no longer have any extra clicks. There used to be 12 and only 7 were used for a triple FD.
