Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What could be more stupid than... (Botto stay out)

I did a short ride today and while riding around the Rose Bowl, saw someone running with a stoller. Instead of being in the ped lane and going the indicated direction, he was all the way out in the traffic lane, with his back to traffic, and headphones pumping music so loud that I could hear it crystal clear as I passed him.

What makes you think it was Botto?

I had to look just to see why botto had to stay out. now I am disappointed. On the other hand I just found out my spell check is now working so its all good.

uk
obviously he is a self absorbed, self important, idiot. Darwin will eventually take effect. unfortunately he will take someone with him.

Edit: just for the record I am speaking of the jogger not botto.

and this folks, is why a lot of people should not be allowed to procreate. the worst part is the kid will probably grow up to be just as bad as his father.

Darwin lost since he already procreated. Unless the kid gets taken out too, then the forces balance out.

Note that this in no way means that I am in favor of the kid being killed, just that he would have to be for any Darwinian notions to be satisifed.

Botto isn't allowed because his only response would be "A&S"

+1 We live in a country that has many programs designed to protect and preserve the stupid. That's just how it is, though.

That is what I implied, that the child would be sacrificed, due to his self involvement.

Edit: Darwin may still not apply because the child is the spawn of an idiot, so even if the jogger gets taken out and the child/spawn with him it may still not qualify.

Wtf? no spell check on edits?

No helmet, and no restraint. Still, Darwin stayed out of it for the time being.

I think if Darwin himself were alive right now, he would be more inclined to believe in Idiocracy as opposed to the idea that stupid people are removing themselves from our gene pool (with any regularity).

Actually I think he would probably be studying deep underwater life (and staying as far away from society as possible), but that's just a theory.

Haven't you all heard me say, "RUNNING IS EVIL!" Now you know why, as running causes drain bamage.

Darwin's theory involved Natural Selection, where the "fittest" in nature survives, not the necessarily the smartest. Considering the 2 sports in this example, running and cycling, I would have to put my money on the runner.

This would have been a perfect situation for a well-placed slap to the back of the head as you passed. Bonus points for scaring the ever-living **** out of him because he couldn't hear you coasting up behind him...

I would say running is a symptom of brain damage, rather than a cause, but there's definitely some sort of association between the two.
