fit questions -- lifting hands off handlebar
Someone made a comment recently about being able to lift your hands off the bars as part of the hole fit process. Last night I tried it and was able to nearly have my chest at the bars, with my hands off, and still pedal.
I forgot what you said... if you can't lift your hands at all, then your seat is too far back/up?
My overall fit -- as tweaked by me -- is pretty good and comfortable, but if I can make it just a bit better, well, TIA for any feedback.

Try this test. You’ll need a friend to hold the bike up, or set it on a wind trainer. Sit on your bike with your hands on the handlebars and the crank arms horizontal. If you have a drop bar, hold the bar out on the brake hoods. Try taking your hands off the bar without moving your torso. If it’s a strain to hold your torso in that same position, that’s an indication of the work your arms are doing to hold you up.
You will be more comfortable with your saddle slid back, but you may lose power. You might try moving your saddle forward a half cm or so at a time and go for a ride; it sounds like your saddle is plenty far back.
