Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale CAAD9-1 or Bianchi Infinito Ultegra?

Hi Everyone,

I've been testing bikes for the past few weeks, and have narrowed down to these two...

the Cannondale CAAD 9-1 ($2800)
and
the Bianchi Infinito Ultegra ($2999).

Price wise they are pretty similar. I absolutely LOVED the ride of the Infinito, and it seems equally so for the CAAD9.

Currently I have a 1995 Bianchi Trofeo with Campy Mirage and Mavic wheels (this bike has been with me a long time - and yes, it's celeste!).

Other Alternative: Upgrade my old Bianchi to a modern drivetrain (Resto-Mod!), that being Campy Athena and Mavic Kyserium SL wheels, and put a CF fork and a new stem and handlebar on there.

If I go the upgrade route - what are some good places online to get the parts for a lot less than retail? And what CF forks for road bikes would you recommend?

Which bike would you choose? Or would you upgrade the gorgeous old Celeste Steel Bianchi?
