Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice car in the backround, and bike for that matter.

If I had to do it again I'd get the silver version, as the gray doesn't take cratches too well.. But, this is my first Campy bike and I really like it. I like the 10 speed, I like the thumb shifter, and the fact that I can click up 3 gears in one pop (comes in handy when I get out of the saddle). I miss the Shimano hoods which are beefier and more comfortable for me. Otherwise the Centaur is great!..

I'm a bit of a noob about plenty of stuff, so uhh, what's with the screw on the drop out? I mean, I can guess that it's so the wheel is always in the same position, but why would you want to adjust the position anyway? In other words, why not just make the drop out to the "right" position to begin with? Sorry for being verbose, not sure what I'm asking

Absolutely gorgeous bike btw.

I prefer thumb-shifters too, but I think the beefier hoods would be more to my liking. I do need to try campy someday.

I know what you are asking.. these rear dropouts are the "classic" style, and I chose them for that reason. Originally they were made to allow you to better align the wheel in the frame if the frame goes out of whack. I like the look so I chose those. It can be a bit of a headache if you start screwing around with the two screws too much. If you put in the wheel in when it is not perfectly centered, the bike will not track right. It gives me another excuse to obsess over the bike..
