Dear Rich Fred's
It is very frequent that you will get crap about your expensive cycling gear because someone is jealous. It is equally common that you will get crap about your expensive cycling gear because it's a complete waste of your money.
That's all.
PS
A powertap from PSIMET is not a waste of money.
That's all.

This whole stupid friggin sport is a waste of money for everybody except a few hundred top pros. The rest of us (including top amateurs) are hobbyists with low resting heart rates. We are all too fat for this sport. We all ride thousands of miles and go friggin nowhere.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
So what's your point? Should all hobbyists stop spending money on the stuff they love because you think it's a waste of money? You sound like a friggin Communist.

You gonna eat that?
Wait.... I thought the original Fred was a guy who underdressed and had crappy gear but still rode fast?
Oh, and.... "Dear Rich Fred's" is incorrect in that Fred's denotes a possessive where you clearly intend a plural. No apostrophe is warranted.

Who cares what who rides?
On wet days I ride my old steel frame I bought from a yard sail for $10, (which I built up with 9 spd Ultegra), while my rich friends still ride their expensive CF wonderbikes. They accept and respect me...... 'cos they know I can still snap their legs off on the old bike.

Oh, personally I don't care. I encourage people to do what makes them happy. But the jealousy response is a little over used, and often incorrect. Case in point.
