saddles leather or synthetics?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

anyone with opinions about saddle covering? I have a choice to make between 2 saddles and one of the differences is the covering material. one is leather and the other is synthetic

i would have to assume that the synthetic is less maintenance, will clean up easier, and possibly last longer

Some will swear by well broken in leather, but if you don't already know the difference between leather and synthetic, go with the synthetic.
