I'll be in NYC soon and wanted to ask about a good store over there to buy for a Ti Road frame 2.6LBS as Max, I got 2K to spend.

where are you coming from. generally going to nyc to buy something is not a cost effective idea since the sales tax is so high, and most of the high end bike shops that would carry Ti arent going to give you much of a discount.

you're better off figuring out what you want, go to that manufacturers webpage and locating a dealer that way.

I recommend going into R&A and tell them you have $2K to spend on a Ti frame.

I'm from Argentina AngryScientist, so I'm kind of worry about how to deal a whole bike or frameset when I came back from the US. Usually ppl that travel to the US buy lots of stuff and there're policies that makes you pay for the 50% of the total value. First, prior to buy anything, I'll figure out if I can bring such frame.

Another concern is how ppl from the airport is going to "handle" my new just bought frame and how it's going to be "throw out" in the airplane deposit. That makes me nervious while I am not able to see nothing.

Go to Westwood Cycle and ask for Mark. They are not in NYC, however.

Compared to Europe, going anywhere in the US is more cost effective as far as frames and groupsets are concerned. PBK's deals aren't so great once you include 17.5 or 25% sales tax

however what the OP is talking about doing may be just as, or more expensive. buying a bike here and taking it home via plane might be tricky, with airline fees, and a storage box, etc.

soliver, you should probably visit a few bike shops and see if they will ship you the bike, as opposed to trying to take it on a plane home with you.

If he buys a nice, $1,200-$2,000 frame he'll definitely come out ahead.

Strictly Bicycles in Fort Lee NJ just over the GW bridge carries lynskey other Ti frames/bikes. I got an amazing deal on a Litespeed Archon demo from them.......
