3 saddles attempted at 300 - 400 miles each
Then Brooks! I'm done with all that now. |
One hour.

Also use the Toupe. Took a little getting used to as I came from a Flite...but it works great now. Have it on both bikes.

Okay, so is it pretty much a given that any saddle is going to be uncomfortable after about 2 hours. I've got the Alias that came standard on my '08 Specialized Allez Elite. I've had my sit bones measured and it's the right size, but after 2 hours or so, it's just really uncomfortable. It's not painful, per se, but just uncomfortable.

Update: I turned the nose down a little and presto! Perfect and wonderful. My love affair with Selle San Marco continues.

Is there a saddle out there that's comfortable for 7 hours?
My Antares is hard and probably hurts more in the first 5 miles than it does in the next 30 or so, but I definitely feel it after 40 or so miles. Time for an update. I switched out my Fizik Antares for a Specialized Toupe 143. I have about 250 miles on the Toupe now and can't believe how much more comfortable it is. As an added plus, there's no numbness in my nether region anymore either. |
I would say after 2 or 3 rides of 15 miles or greater. Life is too short to torture my undercarriage by giving a saddle too much of a chance to work for me.

A quick bump.
