Reason #285 not to ride with triathletes: Dodging water bottles knocked out of from seatpost racks is never, ever fun.

I learned that I, personally, should not take a full day off of riding after a 22 hour, 6-day week. My legs didn't feel so great today, but I was pretty fast.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
On yesterday's ride, I learned that maybe I should start looking for a tandem for me and my girl. At least for now.

I learned that interval sprints primarily work the lungs, not the legs. In my defense, today was my first day doing intervals.

I learned if the weather report says calm winds 8-11 mph, it's probably not going to stay like that!
Right now there's a wind advisory for S. Nevada....winds in excess of 40-50 mph gusts...lol

Riding just after dark with a crappy headlight plus a huge pothole plus water bottle in one hand = scary.
Looks like I'm gonna try to go get a magic shine so I don't die next time.

I learned that I still hate strong headwinds that make my "easy" ride much much more difficult and frustrating.
Oh and not to drink coffee a few hours before a ride, even if it is a short one.

I second arok,
Headwinds and even a strong crosswind in the right direction can be killer.
I was giving everything i had, and felt like i was slugging along the highway...
Was really pissing me off,
it was also the first 100km ride of the year, so being on the last 1/4 stretch of said ride with a headwind = the suck.

I learned that I really need a group to bike with.
Every morning, I fly by other people going uphill and I had deluded myself into thinking that I might be pretty strong. Then this morning I got passed by a group of 3 people (one female) going at a constant 25mph+ pace that i simply couldn't keep up with.
I ALSO learned that i really should be going COMMANDO!

That I can bonk on even a 40 mile ride if I'm tired and haven't eaten... and that an energy bar is a great thing to have in your pocket to get you home.

Isn't that annoying? Feelin' good on the carbon bike, decide to motor past someone else and then the whole facade crumbles as you pass the fella with a crick-crick-crick . FWIW, my BB sometimes creaks after I've taken it out in the wet. Pulling the spindle and applying a fresh, thin layer of grease sorts it out for me, but hunting down creaks seems to be a dark art.
