Cytech Chamois
 

So I heard from a variety of sources that Castelli, Capo, Rapha and Assos all use Cytech Chamois' on some of their bibs. Does anyone who has bibs from two of the above brands feel that the chamois are basically the same....
If their chamois are the same as others, I'd hate to pay premium dollars for Assos bibs because the lycra is better :(

Yes, it's true, but I know that Assos at least has Cytech make them "special" chamois' that aren't availible to anyone else. It might be the same for the others.

I've been very very happy with my Raphas.

Even though they come from the same manufacturer, the varieties of chamois used by different companies are likely to be made to different specifications (and price points!). The quality of lycra and finishing of the products (stitching etc) are also issues worth considering. Assos gear is expensive, but IMO it's worth it.

Just like Giant manufactures bike frames for many different bike manufacturers to their specifications, almost all 'good' bike short companies outsource their chamois manufacture, much of it to the Italians.

They are not the same though, just made in the same place, by the same people.
