Bringing up the rear on today's ride
AMS in the background in Hampton, GA. This was roughly 18 miles into the 25'er we did this evening. If you look really close, ahead of the other fellow you can see, is the pack. I finished the ride well at the back, but still over a MPH faster than my average has ever been.
I was hiding my misery well here.....
Really had a good time, but have to work on staying with the pack. Thanks to my friend for dropping back with me, and keeping me occupied.

There is no problem here.
Keep riding, next time, cut that gap in half, the next time, crush their souls.
Good lookin ride there, maybe one day, ill get to sit at the end of the front stretch what it feel like to see 202 going into turn one!

Looks like a great early morning ride, sweet quite road. However, your resolution / imagination is better than mine, I can't find a pack anywhere! Drop 'em all next time.

Thanks for the kind words. This has been a great challenge and I am quite proud of the achievement to even be able to join this group, tail end or not. A few months ago I would not have been able.
Lol, as to the resolution, I forget the loss that comes with downsizing and posting for a forum page. The pack is mostly obscured by the tree, I figure something in the area of an eighth mile or a little more ahead of me at that point. The fellow that is up immediately in front of me, and I share a similar fit level, but his weight brings him down hills well faster than I care to go yet. The Hwy 20 bridge offers a downslope that I imagine with a small amount of pedaling and tuck would make 40 come easy. I watched the pack pull away going up one side, and him pull away on the downhill on the other side.

Was this the Epic Bicycle store ride? I've been meaning to try it. I did the group ride over in Peachtree City.
Excellent job on the ride though. You would have beaten me!

Great posting. Makes me want to jump out of work and hit the road but I have to wait until tomorrow.

40 isn't really very fast on the decent. Once you do it a few times and get comfy, it will seem like nothing. IMO, 46+ is when it starts getting scary.

Looks like a great place to ride. I went to a race there several years ago and was hit by a chicken bone somebody chucked at my from their truck on the way back to my car. I'd hate to know what thet would do had I been riding a bike wearing my kit.

funny thing is that I only looked at his shoes and didn't even notice the leg. Great job. I wish I were out riding instead of teaching....not really. I love teaching and cycling.

Yes this was the Epic ride. Really a good ride, enjoyed it a lot. They hold several a week, this happened to be with the "B" group, "A" was out of site before we got out of the parking lot good, lol.
Oh and yes, this particular leg is CF and Titanium for the most part. It was a "failed" walking leg, the last of four others over the past several months that we modified into a good riding leg. Cut the back trimline down, and lengthened it about 1-1/2" from my other leg to facilitate raising the seat to a proper height for my good leg, while keeping my knee joint in a relatively comfortable position (more bent) on the other.
