Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Bike!!!!! (Pics)

Finally did it! I test rode this bike atleast 10 times and every time i was impressed! I am going to do my first ride with it tommorow and i'll be sure to give a full ride report. Here are some pics...I have to cut it, i know but i wan to be sure i can ride it all the way down low like that first. The only thing i swapped out was the cassette to a 12-27 and the handlebars. I like the wing tops

If you're really riding with the handlebars that low, might as well just cut off the rest of the steerer tube. Beautiful Cervelo.

Nice cervelo! I notice your using older 6600 derailleurs with the new 6700 shifters. Also the brakes calipers you are using probably require a different cable pull than the brifters apply. So how does the bike shift and brake? Just asking because I was thinking about going the same route, but keep hearing mixed opinions

Congratulations!! The color scheme is gorgeous.

For whatever it's worth, it looks like the shifters are the latest Ultegra 6700 and the FD/RD are Ultegra 6600. The brake calipers appear to be Cervelo brand. From what I read on another forum, the Ultegra 6700 brake levers should be used with 6700 calipers for best braking performance. It has something to do with the leverage ratios in the 6700 brake lever being optimized for 6700 calipers.

Perhaps someone who is more familiar with the Shimano component compatibility can chime in.

Indeed. Put in some solid miles on it.
There's nothing wrong with leaving at least one of those 10mm spacers on top.
You never know when you might want some of that height back: neck issue, early season mods, age, finding a buyer 5 years from now...

Agree. I wouldn't touch the steerer tube until you get 750/1000 miles on it. If you are a bike w*ore like me and sell your bikes after a few years, the new owner may want a higher position.

To reinforce others, I'd be cautious about cutting too much. That fork is painted to match and you will never be able to get a replacement in a year or two.

Just food for thought but do whatever you want.

Low? The hoods look even w/ the seat. Which is fine if it's comfortable. Just sayin'.

Well apparently the bike business is not good enough for Cervelo - looks like they are getting into golf too. Here is Jason Dufner at the Masters - notice the pants. (click to enlarge)

of course I jest, but I guess a pant maker is using the same e with accent a gue as a trademark.

Am I on the right forum? I didn't see any mention of the angle in the first pic or the position of the chain, cranks or wheels. Nice bike though!

The picture was taken at an angle. The bars are as low as they can go and there is quite a drop.

Nice ride...

Ride nicer than your Lemond? The Cervelo is aluminum right? Nice bike, be sure to post back after you've put some miles on it.
