Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You're probably going to want to part it out instead of selling it all in on package. It's going to be hard to find someone willing to pay a reasonable price for that mish-mash of parts all together.

Agree with the above poster. Probably wouldn't get more than $200 for it whole.

You need to include the year, make, model, approximate mileage, etc. to get any meaningful feedback. Is this a cyclocross frame.

Imagine if it were a car and you excluded this information from your advertisement.

Hard to give you a price on anything really as each picture is differently configured. 105 shifters? Are you planning on making it a geared bike? If so, you'd get more money back for it.

Except that it has STI shifters and no derailleurs and is now a single speed. It's a totally different bike.

If I saw an Ebay ad like this I would run (not walk) away. This has been DIY experiment bike. You would never know what is going to show up at the door. This is an great example of how not to sell a bike. The owner even seems ashamed to use the brand name - Iron Horse.

You better just keep this one.

Everything you see comes with the bike and what is not on the bike now, are extras. Its just a bike I found and put some wheels on. Why are you guys crying so much. I didn't post this so I could have a pissy fit with you snobby types, if you can't help in figuring a total worth of this setup no need to reply to this post.

And liquefied mish-mash would be the opposite removal of part, it would only explain adding substance to an object.

Btw I have a great 16lb mish-mash bike I built myself, witch one of you here setup your derailleurs or any maintenance on your own bikes. This is the reason why the US is falling apart. If you don't understand it its ****. Like children in the search for a disposable world.

The point is that the setup is not worth much because of how you did it. Part it out and sell it.

I'm guessing parted out would be the way to go. Not many folks are likely going to want to pay extra for 2 stems, bars, sets of brake levers, chainrings, saddles etc.

Tough to do research since Ironhorsebikes.com is RIP and bikepedia's color and price fields are blank for most Iron Horse bikes.

Looks to be a transit 3.0. Sierra Trading Post is selling 'em for $524, so I'd probably ask $300 and be happy to pull in around $200. I'm not sure what the Louisville market's like, however.

Oh and if you decide to set it up with the road bars/levers, try not to make the setup so wack next time.

What does this mean? Are the derailleurs and multi-speed wheels included to make it a functional road bike? That's vital information to include. Excuse us if we don't automatically assume things that are not listed are included in the package.

Do you want help or not? Don't post if you don't want our opinions.

Its a mish-mash of single-speed and multi-speed parts that don't make any sense being together.

Btw I have a great 16lb mish-mash bike I built myself, witch one of you here setup your derailleurs or any maintenance on your own bikes. This is the reason why the US is falling apart. If you don't understand it its ****. Like children in the search for a disposable world.
I'd imagine a lot of us build and tune our own bikes here. I do. That's why we know the bike you have here doesn't make any sense in it's current configuration.

Sorry, us questioning your silly bike build is not the reason the US is falling apart.

Maybe if you actually listened to some of the criticism you would learn how to sell a bike. You could actually make a little money on this if you were smart.

This means setting it up as a bike someone would actually want to ride, writing an honest advertisment were information is not obviously being withheld, taking consistent pictures, etc. etc.. Somehow I don't think this will ever happen though.

+1 on liquefied's post

What are you selling? the bike in the first picture or the second picture? all the parts from both pictures?

and why in the world are there riser bars and brakes on a bike with track gearing?

Agreed.

OP: Why do you have a White Industries fixed gear rear hub on a multi-speed frame with a derailleur hanger that isn't hanging a derailleur and clearly multi-speed brifters?

The cranks, saddle, bars, pedals and stem are all different between the two pictures. I'm starting to get the vibe that you just went around stealing bike parts to poorly build up a wannabe-hipster fixie.

Because according to the OP, that's the original equipment. "Thanks for the response and understand what your saying but its hardly mish-mash of parts, its all a factory setup but the bars and wheels"

Maybe that's why Iron Horse went out of business. They don't know how to build a bike. Or maybe (more likely) the OP doesn't know how to properly build a bike.

If that's the original equipment from Iron Horse then why is there discrepancy and discontinuity in stems, saddles, front rings and pedals between pictures?

I guess my previous post should have been "why did the manufacturer..." not "why did the OP". Either way, I was trying to figure out why a company would waste a multispeed frame to build a fixie and was hoping to justify the conclusion that something fishy is going on.

Here's where I could have made more sense if I would have used a after the OP stated it was original equipment.
