online cycling documentaries

I was wondering if folks know of any online cycling documentaries.

Like many of us, I'm sure, I've been a big fan of Cervelo's "Beyond the Peloton," and even Rapha's less narrative "Continental" lifestyle videos, but was wondering if there are any others that folks have enjoyed. Here's one from Team Jelly Belly that I've found pretty charming:

Thanks in advance.

Though it's not a documentary per say, the movie, American Flyers is pretty good; it's apparently based on a true story. There are some plot holes, but nothing too bad for a B movie. It stars Kevin Costner just before his breakout role in The Untouchables. The good folks at Netflix considered it to be the second best cycling movie ever made, behind Breaking Away.

There is a site called cycling torrents, http://cyclingtorrents.nl/index.php, that has a lot. I'm new to the world of torrents though, and have had some difficulty with them. The downloads can take ten hours and then the playback can start-stop-stutter. I've got broadband. It's a bit frustrating because there seems to be a lot of stuff out there but if the docu is going to shudder every 20 seconds it's just not worth it. You guys have better luck with them?

You're waiting for the torrent to finish downloading, right?

You are asking if I wait to until the download is finished before watching? Yes. It seems weird to me that it would skip after it is downloaded.

There's nothing wrong with cyclingtorrents and your internet connection has nothing to do with the playback of your video. Either you just got unlucky with one video and the quality was bad, or your PC is just to slow. Especially if you've downloaded HD material I bet you haven't got a powerful enough PC.

But you can try VLC (for SD files, not HD. For HD try media player classic) if you aren't using it allready.

And yes, cyclingstorrents has tons of great documentaries. check it out.

I did another download and it played perfectly. I'm not sure what is going on but I'll play around and see why the first two efforts went so wrong. Strange.

Dave Moulton's blog has a good bit of cycling history on it, check the list on the right side of his page. http://davesbikeblog.squarespace.com/

http://le-grimpeur.net/ has a lot of history on the best climbers in cycling.

Velo Press has a lot of nice books on cycling, including Cycling's Golden Age

Rapha has a new, 17-minute "Rapha Continental" video that I think is terrific:

This one looks like it will be exciting - ridetorio.com, very interesting route i've not seen tried much and certainly not captured on a reasonably professional level!

It's a drama, a fictional story. The plot revolves around a race called the "Hell of the West" that is based on the real, but now defunct Coors Classic. The script is kind of cheesy, but the cycling is mucho fun for our kind. It's definitely a period piece, with downtube shifters and pre-aero helmet-things, not to mention kit and clothing fashions. The music isn't bad, with a very pop sounding title theme and some 80's instrumental LA funky grooves. Hands down, the best moment in the film is the cameo by Eddie Merckx himself. If you like cycling, and you know you do, it's not a waste of time.
