Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ibex aprisa team pro

I am a beginner to road biking and would like to buy a road bike which I wouldnt need to upgrade in the next couple of years. I expect to bike around 400miles a month. Would Ibex aprisa team pro fit the bill? Does anyone have an opinion on this bike. All my LBS have run out of bikes of my size (56cm). Hence I have to got with the online retailer. Does anyone recommend me waiting till spring to find a bike at LBS (for better choice and better price)?

I recently purchased this bike and have been very happy with it. It had a few issues upon arrival and required some tweaking (I expected this) to get things right, but since then it has been great. Ibex customer service was also among the best I've ever dealt with. In short, I would buy from them again. I can't comment yet on long term durability as I've only had it for a month now.

Since, I cant test ride the Aprisa, which bike in your opinion closely resembles the Aprisa? Did you test ride any other bikes before buying the Aprisa?

No, I didn't take any local test rides. I have an old cheapy road bike and a newer Giant hybrid that I ride the most. I bought the Ibex based on price/component group being what I wanted for I what I wanted to spend. As I said, I am quite happy with it as it is light years ahead of my other bikes, but I really can't compare to a store brand in a similar price range.

I have an 03 Ibex. The Corrida flat-bar road bike. Couldn't be happier. If you have any questions either before or after you buy, call Jack at customer service. He'll be happy to answer any questions.
