Pretty funny story for today's ride

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pretty funny story for today's ride

So, I'm riding into local towns to tackle a few hell-hills for training. After a bit I decide to roll into town and refill my water. This red car flew passed me and I could smell a thick cloud of weed trailing them. And all I had to do was follow the scent to find where they went. It was seriously that bad. I saw 4 people in the car, probably all "celebrating" 4/20.

Funny enough, I catch up to them at the intersection and ride behind them into said shopping center. I decide to follow them until they parked, and after they cut the engine I said.

" I know it's 4/20 and all, but I could smell you from a hundred feet away "

The driver, a 30 year old looking guy with a metallica t-shirt started laughing out of relief. He told me they saw that I followed them from the road and though I was a cop. I thought it was hilarious while rolling away I saw a police car parked outside the same store but thought nothing of it.

After filling my water bottle I Saw the cop who was parked outside, exit the store and follow the scent of weed to their red car, where he made them all get out of the car...

The driver in the metallica shirt then came out of the store, looked at the scene, looked at me. I gave him a "I told you so" look.

------------

I bet alot of you guys won't find this that funny, but I sure did. It was just plain stupid of them to drive a car around full of weed with 4 people smoking it and with the windows down. *facepalm*

I got no problem with weed or people who do it. I just let them know that they were trailing the smell like hell and that they should roll up the windows or something, else they will get caught. The cop caught them himself. I just found it funny. If you're going to celebrate 4/20, then do so somewhere where you're not going to get caught

Snitches get stitches.

Seriously though there is a reason why there is a "recirculate" setting on your car AC. It is so what is inside the car stays inside the car.

Don't ask how I know this. Lets just say "I live in Miami". If you do not have AC in your vehicle, you ought to be spending LESS on weed and MORE on getting a decent car - or fixing what you have. Priorities man! Chicks do not want to get into a hot nasty car that stinks of sweat and armpit. Nobody does really.

PS - drier sheets stuffed in the AC vents also keep things smelling April fresh. Just not exactly April 20 fresh. That smell is best avoided.

PPS - the drier sheet trick works even if you do not smoke anything in your vehicle. Seriously. Try it.

Are you advocating the use of Illegal drugs on a public bicycling forum?

Nope, just laughing at how dumb people can be. I am a health nut, I don't even touch soda, that stuff is poison.

Well would you want a stoned driver following you? They might have thought it funny to run you down. Could turn into another driver hits cyclist story.

Not to spoil the humor here, but as a cyclist, the last thing I need is a bunch of stoners driving around while I'm riding. It's hard enough with txting and talking on the phone while driving, but driving impaired is just not good. When they think they're being pulled over by a bike cop, yeah, that's impaired ;-)
