Biggest Bike fail ever!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Biggest Bike fail ever!

I thought id share a thread on this on my personal bike fail and maybe you can share some of yours. So i was sort of going toooo fast and i mean toooooooooo fast in my own neighbourhood and of course on my track bike. I'm going a little over thirty and got people staring at me and shouting "Yahhhh!" and so i take a real wide left turn and i get cut off by a bigggg van in front of me and im sort of leaning into the left turn and i have to take a sharp right turn and the wheel slips all the way right a little backwards even and skids the front wheel bends the fork snaps the brake and i fly forward over the handlebars and smash my face in the ground sending me to the hospital. I had to go to one hospital where my mom took me and they didnt have the proper equipment to treat me (CRAP) so they call an ambulance and take me to the UCI medical place where i get two IV's in my arms and things shoved wayyyy to far in my nose. To wrap it up i stayed in there for 3 days in the critical watch room with tons of morphine and stay home for two weeks. Mouth wired shut for two weeks no eating or anything. Top that. No one i know has done that off a bike before. dont think anyone here can beat it. (not that im proud show me if youve done worse.

I've got a lot of 'why' questions. I'll leave it to your imagination what they are.

This is BF. Don't say things like that here. There are people here who will deliberately go and crash worse just to prove they can.

You have a good attitude, now just work on that whole "bike riding" thing and you'll be fine.

Some would say you were riding irresponsibly. I am one of those. Regardless, get well and learn.

I call BF, um, I mean BS on this! On a tarck bike? No.

And if by "fail" you mean "doing stupid **** that will end up costing me and those who are responsible for me a metric ass-ton of grief, trouble, and expense for a long time to come", then yes, that's hard to top.

We've probably all been at least close to there, though. So maybe this was your peak of fail, and will reduce/eliminate your need to do this to yourself and your family again.

Recover well, and pay attention to what has just happened!

Trying to pull a Jens Voigt stunt there, eh buddy? Well, let me ask you this, did they had to repave the street after your face hit the ground? Didn't think so.

Sounds like a pretty bad bail. Are you still pretty/have all your teeth?

I hope you get better soon but please try to learn from this. Don't take corners with traffic around at 30+. Track bike or otherwise it's not going to end well.
