Yet Another Saddle Thread

I currently ride a Fizik Vitesse HP, but I am finding that it is just a bit too wide. Normally this would dictate that I pick up the men's version, the aliante, but if I am to buy a saddle, I'd like to know what other options are out there. I am looking for a saddle that is in the 140mm range for width (current saddle is 150)

I know that saddles are very personal as everyone's butt is different, but I am looking for saddles similar to the aliante. A hammocked saddle is a must, I tried a flat saddle such as the arione for months and that just didn't end up working out for me. I like firm, but not rock hard, padding. I honestly don't know how a cut-out saddle would feel, so I am not entirely opposed to the idea. Although I am female, I need a saddle on the narrow side with respect to the area where the nose meets the rear part of the saddle, or my legs get cut into.

Just a few suggestions of what brands and models I could be looking at would be nice :)

143 toupe. people either love or hate them, definitely worth trying. they have a small cutout and partially utilize the hammock effect.

Use the search term "Brooks used saddle" on Ebay. Then just find two trees in your back yard about 10-15 feet apart.

Ok so maybe I didn't phrase that correctly. What I meant to day is that I do not want a flat saddle, I've tried several, and none have worked for me, I need a curved saddle, like the aliante is.

Check out the Selle An-Atomica if you like Brooks.

Lots of 140mm saddles out there but you need to try them. Nothing wrong with Aliante.

Bianchi has a cheap special version $70

There are knockoffs Nashbar sells one $40

I will say seems like a lot of people that try Aliantes wind up with Ariones.

I'm the opposite. I had an arione cx for some months, and eventually sold it when I could not find any position that didn't cause broken skin in a certain spot. I've had the vitesse for a few months, and in the process of dialing in my position, I've found that it's too wide, it cuts into the back of my legs, and generally feels a bit too wide.

Thanks for the links, though, I will definitely look into those :)
