General jersey size question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

General jersey size question

Regarding club fit jerseys, if I select my regular chest size from the manufacturers chart will a club fit jersey be very tight? If I want a less tight fit should I simply go up a size or forget club fit altogether?

It will depend on the manufacturer, but in general I would say that a club fit jersey will not be tight if you select the appropriate size from provided charts. Race cut jerseys fit tighter.

^ What he said. Club fit is looser than race fit. Don't think I've ever ridden wearing a club fit actually, all mine are race fit.

So what if the jersey is race fit, but I'd like a little more breathing room? Size up?

It will give you more breathing room but don't expect that much extra space.

If you want a looser fitting jersey, order a club cut not race it.

If you want it to fit, order your size. If you don't, order a different size.

It's not rocket science.

Easy. Just trying to get an idea before ordering online, Professor.

Indeed. Size up if it is available only in race cut, otherwise, get the club cut.
