Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I would get one, but if comfort is more important than racing to you (which I don't think it is) then go ahead and get a new one.

That is a pretty casual position while you are on the hoods... but are you capable of being comfortable with a longer reach for extended periods? I think your seat post needs to extend half an inch higher though.

Definitely could use a longer stem...looks like you're riding a mountain bike!!

Gorgeous bike by the way.

I wouldn't go straight to a 110mm right off the bat. I bought some clearance Easton stem and bar from Jenson to try what I was more comfortable with. Settled on a 90mm stem and 75mm (vs 80mm) reach bar for now. I think that reach will come as fitness and flexibility increases. With a bad back I have some work to do. Perhaps you can try going up in increments of 10mm to see how it feels? It was a cheap experiment for me ($36 for bars and stem) but I found a good comfort level.

Rule #1: Bike sizing before 'pro' look. You appear to have plonked some serious cash down to be struggling with this fit issue. All the best - and yes I think an 80cm stem is only for very few odd shaped people, a 100/110 stem should produce the best bike sizing too. The shop you bought this from can probably let you try both sizes.

+1.

Besides that, looks like saddle needs to be raised a tad and longer stem by about 1-2 cm. See how that works, but if i were you and threw down money like that, I'd get a pro fit. Fit > everything

I agree with those who suggested getting a fit. Go for a Retul fit if there are any in your area.

What rdl456 said. 3 cm is a huge difference. Even if 110 is where you want to end up, I'd go in stages.

How about you tape up the bars, go for a ride, then decide.

I disagree about the saddle height issue and think you would do fine with a longer stem.
