How do you take your water?
Is the water you take with you on rides straight out the tap? Is it filtered or if your really lucky mineral water? I'm just wondering because i know there are advantages and disadvantages to each of them. For example, Tap Water is safe against germs and everything because it is so well treated but all the chemicals they treat it with can't do you any good, i hear it contains virtually every element in ther periodic table, such as bromine, chlorine, fluorine, as it is often retreated human waste it also contains human hormones and stuff. But i also hear that mineral water wouldn't be allowed through the tap by quality control because of high levels of radiation and germs! Sounds like a lose lose sitaution, personally i just filter my water but apparently if you wanna be real picky you should filter then boil it but this sounds like a lot of hassle. The whole subject kinda spooks me a bit really because you have to put a lot of water in and if it's full of fluoride, chlorine bromine and all the rest it can't be too good?

As far as keeping gallons around the house I drink Springtime Artesian water, it has a nice taste and has a neat rubber spout for pouring. For portable bottles I prefer Fiji or Evian but I try other stuff from time to time. I never drink water out of the tap, my dog doesn't even drink water out the tap.

We drink our water right out of the tap. But then again, Minneapolis water is apparently some of the best urban water in the USA (straight out of the Mississippi river (upstream of most industry)).

I prefer to use filtered water. It tastes better warm than the stuff out of the tap, which tastes aweful warm.
Here is what I use. I have one on the fridge and on the sink, I use filtered water to cook with and to make coffee, juice, gatoraid, and watever else.
Aquabrite Filters.

I use this:
Pur Ultimate Dispenser DS-1800
"This PuR Ultimate Water Dispenser provides dual filtration using a two-step process. The first step reduces lead, copper, chlorine, sediment, chemicals linked to cancer (TTHMs, Benzine), bad taste and odor. The second step uses a Pleated Microfilter that removes 99.99% microbiological cysts, cryptosporidium and giardia.
Fits conveniently in the sink for refilling. The special fill tray design helps distribute weight while the handles make it easy to fill and carry."
It makes filling up as easy as a nice glass of boxed wine
Also, my sister's a physician, and she once made the point to me: "it's not like people are exactly falling over dead from drinking tap water." From a conceptual standpoint yeah, you don't want to drink lead and germs. But from a practical standpoint, probably healthier and safer than what your ancestors had to drink.

I use a PUR filter.
Truthfully, most of the tap water terror is pure bunk. I saw a study about bottled water and it is no better than what comes out of the tap. As a matter of fact, most of it DID come right out of the tap and is just filtered.

If I'm sucking exhaust fumes all day, I can't really convince myself that filtered water is vastly better. I'll use a tap, hose, or whatever so long as I feel the water is reasonably clean.

I had a bookmark about this from Prevention magazine.
https://www.prevention.com/cda/featur...1-6874,00.html
I don't really have any fears drinking the tap water where I am - it's regulated much more closely than any of the bottled waters folks seem to flock to, as the bottled water sold in stores is under loose FDA regulation (not even as good at it sounds)...they have a hard enough time with the meat/poultry/fish stuff, but there are no standards for store bought bottled water as there are for public water processing.
Just to cover the delta, I installed an industrial strength under-sink granulated carbon system that covers just about everything else (I did this when my kids were smaller and was concerned mostly about lead...). There is a spigot on the sink and I installed a tee and ran copper tubing under the house to the back of the refrigerator, so it can be dispensed cold as well. If you do something like this, make sure to install a tee with a valve so you can turn of just the refrigerator's water source if you have to without turning off the whole sink or house.

Right out of the tap. The water here is great.
When I was in Phoenix I made the mistake of drinking tap water and spent a lot of time in the bathroom for the next couple days.
