Props to Specialized

Had the opportunity to take a very long ride on an S-Works Tarmac today when the demo truck visited our LBS. I gotta say that program is a great idea. I am going to buy a very nice bike later this summer, and had pretty much narrowed it down to a SuperSix, Tarmac and perhaps a Noah or Look.

I'll leave the bike review aside for the moment and just say the bike was everything I expected. But the fact that I was able to ride it for a couple hours and verify that I like it is going to make it hard to pull the trigger on a different brand, unless I have a similar opportunity.

So props to Specialized for a great marketing idea.

That is all.

Cervelo has a similar thing that was just in town here.

I think that several companies do this. You just have to live in am area where any given brand comes.

Most of my LBS's have encouraged me to take prospective bikes for long rides prior to purchase. Cool that some companies are going around and helping out this way.

A few of the major companies do this: Cannondale and Cervelo among others.

Cannondale, Trek, Cervelo, Specialized (apparently), Fuji, and most major brands do this. We always have like 3 Trek ones every year.
