Thoughts on Fuji Roubaix 1.0?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thoughts on Fuji Roubaix 1.0?

I'm looking to upgrade from my old Trek steel frame to a "modern" road bike, but I'm not at the point where I'm ready to spend a fortune. I took the Fuji Roubaix 1.0 for a spin today and liked it a lot. At $1300 it seems like a lot of bike for the money.

Before I shell out that kind of money though, I want to see what other people think about it. And are there other bikes in that price range I should consider?

Yesterday I went into Performance Bike to get one. But I ended up with a Roubaix ACR 2.0. Be careful!

I also was considering the Giant Defy 1 and Felt Z85.

Look at the Scattante 09's CFR race. Carbon and ultegra at about $1400 if you can find your size. Just got one for my wife.

The new Roubaix 1.0 is a lot of bike for the money. Fuji does not seem to be messing around this year. I think performance has it on sale right now for $1200.

I've got a '08 Roubaix, treating me good. Real good value. I think the call it the ACR, the current 2010 Roubaix were downgraded a bit, frameset no longer has carbon seatstays. I would step upto Roubaix ACR 3.0 at least if I were you *shrug*, your call though. I'd also prefer the shimano components it has.
