Right knee givng me problems

Just trying to get some input on this issue. I got a new bike this year and my right knee is giving me problems in the front lower part of my knee I also just switched over to speedplay pedals. When I first got the bike I played around with the setup until I started feeling comfortable. I think going thru all this has given me some issues I tried raising my seat and still have an issue. No really a pain but more an inflamation doesn't bother me off the bike just while riding. Anyone have an issue like this and what was your solution? It is becoming annoying.

Got a similar problem a few weeks ago due to a change in position and problems with my cleats. Are u sure the cleats are in the right place?

New to speedplay alot of adustment what was your solution or what is a good rule of thumb for cleat placement?

Cant give you one because it is a thing of personal preference, I had several problems starting with the shoes so i replaced them and problem gone. But in your case you changed the whole bike including pedals.

Never used speedplay anyways but the only thing i can tell you is try to copy the cleat positioning as best as possible, some people gets the cleat all the way back, other ones use the ball of the feet over the pedals. Just remember the position of the ball of your feet in relation with the axle and try to adjust the same position in the speed play.

More options? Maybe the cranks in the new bike are longer?, maybe the floating in the speedplay is messing you up with the knee? The position in the bike was copied right from one bike to the other? Why don't try riding with the old pedals??

Last time I had front knee pain... my saddle had dropped a little over time... didn't notice it right away but when I did I raised it back up and pain went away lickety split. YMMV

same thing happens to my right knee.
i also just made the switch to speedplays.
i just raised the seat by about 3mm and put it on zero float.
works for me

Some people have foot alignment issues, where the foot naturally sits crooked, with the outside leaning down (forefoot varus). The opposite problem is forefoot valgus. That causes a speedplay X-type cleat spring to rub a groove in the pedal spindle. Lemond wedges under the cleat can cure either problem and might help with the knee pain. Do a google search on Lemond wedge.

Knee problems can also arise from improper saddle fore/aft position, the wrong saddle height and unrecognized damage to the knee that only an MRI will reveal.

All of my knee pains were the result of torn meniscus. I've had two surgeries on the left knee and one on the right. I blame over-zealous leg presses.
