Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yes, frame size is important. You can do stem angle and length, saddle height and fore-aft adjustments.

Old 600 components are great, if they aren't worn out.

Downtube shifters are fun but modern brifters are more convenient because you can shift without going one-handed on the bars. I grew up on down-tubers, friction, then did indexed. I did brifters. Not going back to old school. A really nice thing about doing down-tube friction is hand tuning your FD to not get chain rub and hand-tuning your RD shifts. You ride, shift and listen to it, then adjust on the fly. Perfect stock pre-ride-adjustment isn't necessary.

thanks guys, so do you think this would be a good entry level bike? Im sure it will fit , im 6ft 3. Downtube shifting and all that is stuff i have never heard of, but would hopefully not have a problem getting used to/picking up on how to use it. So, bottom line, worth it?
