Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How much is too much???

I have recently come across a deal for a used Basso. The bike is 8 years old and has approx. 9000 miles on the columbos slx frame. This bake has been impeccably maintained and comes with a dura-ace/ultegra mix and falls into my budget of under 1000. The bike specs out as a good fit according to the fit kit.

A lot of people do more than 9,000 miles in a year. Considering the longevity of steel, particularlu Columbys SLX, 9,000 miles isn't a lot. If you were buying the bike from me, it would be a little more than a year old, with my annual mileage.

I agree. 9K miles is not alot. More importantly how well was it taken care of? You could always pulls some bearing and take a look.

Have a shop check the frame alignment, to make sure it hasn't been bent or damaged.
