My wife sharpied my water bottle

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

Just freaking heartbreaking.

A shame your water bottles are more important than your wife or kids.

They're plastic water bottles.

alright, alrigh I said just a little vent..........with 3 kids and a wife all of which I truly love, occasionally a little irritation may arise. Believe me there was no yelling or anything just me with the stupid look on my face after she told me why and to use one of the other bottles. Yes; there just plastic water bottles and something lame enough to post about.

Next time just ask how to remove sharpie. It will save you from silly admonishments by people who don't know you from Adam.

All you people are ridiculous. Where did he say he was divorcing her? Where did he say he was sending his kids to military school? Where did he say that he sleeps in a separate bedroom, in the guest house on his lot, with his Podium bottles?

She did something stupid. He got mad. He then posted about it. FFS!

Congratulations! It sounds to me like your life must be in good order overall.

Everybody has a "worry basket" in their mind into which we store all of our worries and aggrivations. We keep it just full to the top all the time. If we don't have anything serious to fret over or if the basket overflows, we just revise the threshold. Everybody does it. As you approach enlightenment the size of your worry basket may shrink, but we still keep it full.

Can't a man have anything in his house? I would say it was a normal reaction. Get those turds there own spongebob bottles or something, you (the wifey) spend enough money on a bunch of stuff we never really need anyways, whats a couple more water bottles. One of these days woman, one of these days. (would have been my reaction)

I would've been like "oh, ok cool."...it's not like she threw them out, they're still perfectly usable.

I would've gotten the alcohol out. And either taken off the sharpie or drank away my sorrows.

Now you have keepsakes; get your kids to sign and date them too. Twenty years from now they'll see those bottles sitting on a shelf in your house and say, "I remember that!" and smile.

I would have put sharpie on her mascara brush after that. Now all you can do is start keeping your favorite bottles locked up somewhere Camelbak is not cheap stuff.....

Sounds to me like you now have permission to buy a few new Podium bottles. If the wife gives you problems about it, just mention that maybe you wouldn't have to buy new things if she didn't deface every single thing you own with markers all the time. Make sure she knows it's her fault, and that you were just trying to avoid a fight that she seems to have been hell-bent on starting or she wouldn't have even brought it up. Ask her why she's trying to sabotage your marriage. Tell her it's not appropriate to do this in front of the children. Ask her what on earth is wrong with her.

She will never step out of line again. Promise.

It's not a big deal but how about respecting my stuff. Yeah, it's fun to have your kids name on your stuff (years ago I had the kids draw/write on my headbands and arm warmers) but that would have to be your choice - not hers.

Thats just unacceptable, I'm pretty sure the minimum response is to drag your wife to a marriage counselor and make it clear how importance your biking is as a part of your marriage. You can consider going as far as saying that biking and unmarked water bottles are the only bonds that keep this marriage together, and anything deviates from these two things is deemed as an act of emotional, passive aggressive, betrayal.

I sharpied my own Podium, so I could consistantly put Gatorade in the same bottle...although I made a discreet marking on the bottom of the bottle. I hope things work out between you two.
