Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just Finished my First Century! (Pics)

I just finished my first century. I was more than a century though. It was 124 Miles, which makes it that much more impressive for my first one. For you who know the general area, I went with my club from Patterson New York, through Connecticut and to Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

I really need to thank everyone on this forum for all the support and knowledge they have offered me. Thank you! Now to train for an up comming 150 mile ride

Pics from the ride:

Average speed was great, and we were all proud. I had 17.6 it was mostly due to the fact that we were constantly in a paceline with strong riders pulling for most the ride. It was a relativly flat ride too, only 4800 ft of climbing.
