Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cycling in Pavia, Italy?

I know that this is a long-shot, but I also know that there are BF users in some far-flung places on the globe. So maybe it's not a long-shot.

I have a potential job offer in a town about 35km south of Milan. The job would pay, as they say in Europe, "f*ck all." The benefit would be that I get to live in Italy for a bit. I would be abandoning a relatively well-paying job here in the U.S. And I'd be asking my gf and soon-to-be fiancée to do the same. So I'm REALLY trying to figure out everything I can about the town.

Cycling is a big one for me. Anyone ever been cycling in small-town Italy? Is it as awesome as it sounds like it might be? Worth going into the hole of debt for?

Not really looking for life advice. Just trying to get some general info on cycling in the Milan, Italy area. Well, maybe I do need life advice.

Anyway, any thoughts are appreciated.
