Need help deciding please
 

I just got fitted for a bike yesterday and cant decide on my bike. I like the trek 1.1 and 1.2 bike however I will have to travel out of town to get one and the 1.2 is the only one in stock. I believe they said its 750.00. I did find a Jamis Satellite Sport in my size and in stock for 650.00 but I didnt like the shifters. The shop stated I could upgrade to the shifters I liked on the trek for about 110.00 but that puts me at the price of a trek 1.2. The other concern is the shop that has the Jamis is local so getting use of my 1yr free maint. would be easy as they are on my way to the local paved trail I ride. If i opt for the trek they are too far of a drive to use my maint. they offer for free. Its a coin toss for me, I dont really like the color scheme of the Jamis Satellite either. Should I really worry about utilizing the 1yr maintanace they offer? Is the Jamis Satellite sport just a better bike than the trek 1.2? What would people recommend? I would prefer to get my bike soon as Im wanting to park the car for the year and bike to and from work and the store when needed.

In this price range, buy whatever fits you best, that way you'll ride it.

you can teach yourself how to adjust your own derailieurs, and lube your own chain. its not that difficult. I bet thats about all thats included in the year or free maintenance, anything else they'll whack ya for it. Id go trek over jamis but thats just my preference.

What components are on each bike?

The Trek 1.1 is 2300 and the 1.2 is Sora. Aren't they pretty much the same style shifters?

From what I've learned here and online, spend for Sora.

I just got my wife her 1st road bike. It's mixed w/2300 and Sora, but I only paid $400 new after taxes.
