funniest thing - my tire picked up a stone

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

funniest thing - my tire picked up a stone

on last night's ride I heard a repetitive thumping sound. when I investigated it was a small concrete stone that was stuck to the exact center of my front tire. all it took was a flick of my thumbnail to get it dislodged. my tires are at 110 psi (right around max) so it was surprising especially considering my tires have no tread at all. specialized all conditions armadillos (the smooth ones)

I know folks say these tires are slow and I might agree, but even at 120 psi they are very comfortable for my 219 lbs. but are these tires also sticky?

Don't know about your tires being sticky but I did have a stone wedge itself into a small cut on my tire. After a few miles it worked its way throught the tube. Better to check and clear your tires of debris periodically.

Maybe it was the rock that was sticky. There's all kinds of crap on the roads.
