Best time for a recovery massage?
To reward myself for completing my first century this Saturday, I'm booking a massage. In order to get the most recovery benefits, would it be best to have the massage the same day as the ride or the next? Or the day before? Or does it matter?

Light massage, same day. Deep tissue, next day. Certainly don't get anything but a very light massage the day before if at all. If you don't regularly get massages, you're in for a world of hurt when you get your first deep-tissue; it has lasting effects though so you can start to get them regularly.

agreed with a lot above, if you have never had a deep tissue massage, you will feel beat up the next day but feeling great 48 hours after.. Make sure to drink a lot of water after the massage..
