Yakima Copperhead question

Anybody have a good reason as to why the Yakima Copperhead instructions say the rack can't be used with forks without safety tabs? In looking at a few other racks, they don't appear to have this constraint.

I've asked Yakima but I wanted to get a neutral opinion.

Thanks,

Todd

Because that's what the company's attorney told them to say.

Yeah, I get that but why do the other mounts not have the same restriction?

Because the lawyers didn't think to put it in at the time.

Lawyer speak.

I transported my bike (lacking safety tabs) enough times to know it's fine.

Thule says the same thing.

File it under: Cover Your ***.
