$50,000 road bike???!!!!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I thought he was joking when he said that. Hasn't there already been a thread about this same ebay bike?

It doesn't work that way. There is no bidding. Just Buy-It-Now or make an offer .... I think $3500 max

The seller is probably hoping some rich, drunk guy decides to buy his girlfriend a present.

The seller has had 18 negative feedbacks in the last year. LOL

What happens if it never even shows up at the door. This would be hard to explain to my wife.

What's the betting that the listing is some part of an up and coming insurance scam.

I'm thinking about hand painting my bike and letting it go for half that price.

That is a pretty niche group of consumers this bike is going after. Unfortunately the only women I know that would spends 50k on a bike would certainly not want butterflies and crap all over it. In fact, you can get a similar paint scheme on the Diamondback Lady's Vital for like 300 bucks.

Thats kind of liek asking why a famous painting costs millions of dollars (its unique) whenever you have something that is one of only like ~30ish no duh its going to cost alot. A bike like that is more for display then riding anyways....the price isnt for quality but for what the bike represents.
