I'm Torn!

I'm torn between three bikes.

2010 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 4

2010 Cervélo S1

2006 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 3

The older Cannondale is $1000 less than the other two, and is used although it's a size 56cm and I'm around 52-54 and both 2010 models would be brand new with which ever size i need. The 2010 models are also within $100 range. I just don't know what to do! Help me decide! Ask me questions, and I'll answer the best I can to help.

Get the one that fits best and is to your liking aesthetically, but fit should be the most important element.

Pass on the '06. If it doesn't fit right, you won't be happy...

haha thats why I'm down to these 3. I love the Synapse Carbons and the Cervelos. The 2006 is a bit big, so I might consider the others, but $1000 difference is something to consider at least

Oh and just so you know, I'm currently riding a 58cm Specialized Langster. I know I'm not big enough for it, but I'm used to it. So 56cm might not be too too bad

Cervelo is everywhere around where I live. Cannondale...

I thnk of the Synapse and S1 as very different bikes. One is more of a comfort bike, one is more of an aero/race bike. Thats not the final word on their use, but it's probably a hint to look at the type of riding you'll be doing and what you want out of your bike.

It's worth noting though that the Synapse is probably one of the least plush of the comfort bikes geometry wise, but the carbon vs alum frame are probably going to ride quite a bit differently.

Definitely nix the the Carbon 3 if it's the wrong size, you'll regret it later.

If you're going to race I may lean towards the S1 for the slightly more aggressive position and (I'd assume) more responsive frame. If you're just looking for a great all around fast road bike the Synapse is excellent and what I just bought.

Both nice bikes.
