New build (with pics)

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New build (with pics)

I picked up this 2006 Cannondale Six13 on Craigslist for a great price and built it up using a combination of parts from another bike and spare parts I had lying around in the garage. Well, it is not really for me; it is actually for my brother. It turned out pretty nice, and it actually ended up weighing about a pound less than my own bike despite the "spare" parts thrown together. Anyways, here is a picture:

Here is the weight:

And a shot of my own bike for kicks:

MKS system is not stupid, IS is not stupid, american army forces uses metric system also, reason? decimal system is more accurate that's all. Multiply that number in Kilograms by 2.2

Nice 16 pounds bike dude like it <-- edit... just doing round numbers

you got half right.
1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds

7.85 x 2.20462262 = 17.3062876 pounds

What do you estimate the total build price to be?

Nice build, but watch the carbon/alu joints. They are known to go bad on those frames.

Less than $500. But the only things that had to be purchased were the frameset (which came with the crankset and seatpost), brake calipers, a rear derailleur and new cables.

Wrong. Accuracy is in the measuring device and the operator. The pyramids were build using cubits and they seemed to turn out all right. The main draw of decimal systems is that doing math is easier and it scales better. Your average Joe would spend 5 minutes adding 6 5/16" to 3' 3 3/8"; 16cm + 1m = 1.16m pretty quickly.

Anybody that has taken basic mathematics could figure that out.

I can't say I haven't thought about keeping it and turning it into a race bike for myself... Instead, I told him he will have to let me borrow it for some races.
