Cannondale Synapse Carbon 3 '09 vs '10

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannondale Synapse Carbon 3 '09 vs '10

Anyone see/ride both? Looks like there were a few changes in this years model and wondering if it would merit some extra $s.

Biggest change I saw was the BB30 on the '10. Either is good.

They also went with a full carbon fork in '10 in place of last year's carbon/aluminum model, which shaves off about 1/4 pound.

It looks like the '09 has the BB30 according to their website. The biggest difference I see is the upgrade to the Shimano RS80 wheels which are pretty nice. The '10 has a little more bling factor as well

I've got the '10 bike and love it, but I'd think the '09 would be just about as nice if the price was a lot better.

What's the difference?

It doesn't. It has the BB30 shell but they stuck one of those $%*@! adapters in it to fit the Ultegra and you can't take it out. I know because I bought one.

Oh yeah, one small rant. My '10 SuperSix frameset got delayed a month (going on 3 months since ordered). Cannondale says their overseas supplier delayed. So, unless they have the '10 in stock be prepared for long wait. I also hear they've stopped taking orders for '10 and are selling '11 with delivery in March. Just a rumor. Check and double-check ship dates and have your LBS follow-up. I'm still looking forward to it but my instant gratification gene has been mutated. GL

Just going by what Google told me

When I got mine a month or so ago they said they were shipping in June...mine came in a week so perhaps I just got lucky. Seems like a lot of brands are running short this year.

Regardless, if you do order one, make sure the LBS has it tagged as SOLD in the system.

thanks for all the great input. Turns out the choice is between a 56cm '09 or a 54m '10. While by traditional measures, I take a 55, I'm leaning towards the larger frame.

Go with the bike that fits you and not by how big you think your Richard is. Many newbie bike riders choose frames that are too big much like guys always overstate their height.
