Silence ...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Silence ...

in the drive-train is awesome.

I have underestimated the new chain/cassette effect on the ride. it makes it so much more enjoyable.

I've always maintained that a well-set up bike should be virtually silent; sounds like you did well. I recall being in a charity ride and a fellow in the group I was shamelessly tailgating had one of those "Softride" bikes. Thing sounded like a giant eggbeater going down the road.

It makes me realize how worn out the old ones were (I got the bike used.) I just figured if it shifts then it is good, little did I know...

Yeah, love the silent drive-train - makes is easier to hear the sweet thrumming of the tires on pavement.

Yes, my drivetrain is quiet too, until I coast. Then my Hope freewheel makes me think I'm being chased by a swarm of bees.
