Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First time out...In a while.

Rough couple of years; a spot of angina led to a couple of stents, bad knee (torn cartilage) led to arthroscopic surgery.... Yadda, yadda....

Been working into things easy; riding my patrol bike at work ("campus" law enforcement) at an easy pace. Not working hard, the place is pretty level.
Finally dug out my muchly-rebuilt old Cilo and took 'er for a spin around the local park. This is a thoroughly-retro (1972) bike with Columbus steel frame, downtube shifters, and built back up with a decent freehub wheelset.

Went well! My arms are not used to the roadster position, and I wasn't exactly charging up the hills, but things felt pretty good! I think I need new cleats for my ancient "spuds".

Welcome back to riding. That sounds like a nice old steed. Would love to see pics as would most in the C and V section.
