blacked out sidi's

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A few years ago I bought some of Nike's Lance Armstrong shoes -- don't hate, they fit and have served me well. Anyway, they had a big Texas flag on the toe strap, which I could not abide. So I put a strip of duct tape over it and haven't looked back.

Anyone else have stories of murdering out their gear?

Okay fair enough. I was excited to use it in a sentence. Still curious if people have stories of blacking out or otherwise masking logos or other decorations on gear.

I'd call that more stealth than murdered out.

Those shoes were great! I had the later model with the 10/2 date instead of the flag. Unfortunately, the carbon in the heels got close to wearing through (a wreck helped them along) and I had to replace them. I miss those shoes.

I would've done the same thing with the Texas flag.

I'm still wearing them, though the carbon on the heels is completely worn through. I stuck on some plastic taps (toe and heel) from my local shoe repair guy, but they are looking pretty sad. This is probably the year I say goodbye to them and get some SIDIs like everyone else.
