front tire wobble?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

front tire wobble?

when i ride and go over a small rock or slight bump in the road, it looks like my front tire is a little bit loose. i've tried to shake it around and it seems to be securely in place. anyone experience this? is it something to worry about?

thanks

I'm assuming you mean wheel

Is the quick release skewer tight? It should be hard enough to close so that your hand blanches for a few seconds after closing it. Not too hard though, that would be bad.

Are all the spokes of uniform tension? A quick squeeze with your hand will detect any very loose ones.

Most importantly, does it feel wobbly when you go over a bump, or at any time during your ride?

I felt some wobble on a descent today. At 40mph it gets scary, I seriously need to get them trued, before I go over the handle bars. Loose headset sounds right, my bro's bike handles fine, but if you slap the wheel you can hear and feel that its loose.
