Dura Ace 7700 (9 speed) Relic Hunter
I'm looking to do a restore job on relatively older bike and was wondering if anyone has a good resource for nib/nos 9 speed Dura Ace stuff. I've seen a few bits and pieces on ebay and would settle for cassettes and chainrings and freehub body but would really like a 175mm crankset as well. If it's out there I'd love to get hold of a complete group (dreaming, I'm sure).

it exists, but you might have to wait a bit.
I don't know where you are located (Vancouver?), but you should post this request on your local craigslist. Do the same on the NY, SF, LA and chicago craigslists, offering to pay for shipping.
lots of racers have old parts that they're too lazy to put up for sale

Yup, in Vancouver. I'll give that a try, I'm in no rush as it's more of a restoration project, but it's nib or nos stuff I'd love to get hold of.

Total Cycling often has various somewhat old items. They have 7700 cassettes and bottom brackets at the moment.

Lost
unless you really want a spot on restore, tiagra or similar 9-sp cassettes will work just as well, be cheaper and generally undiscernable from DA...

Digging up this again, two questions:
1) Can anyone tell me what has been discontinued and what is still being producedfrom the Shimano 9 speed line, is the Ultegra 6500 stuff still available, or is it down to 105 and lower.
2) I've checked on eBay, does anyone know of anyone selling any 25th anniversary Dura Ace groups with 175mm cranks?

Ultegra is up to 6700 now (and 6600 was also 10sp). 105 is 10sp (don't know the model numbers).
Tiagra is 9sp.

HGxx for cassettes and chains.
UN-xx for BBs.
chainrings, I have no idea, but the stuff you see out there are most likely dead stock.

I have a bike fully equipped with Dura-ace 7700 series. I also have two 12-25 cassettes. I'm buying SRAM Red in the very near future and will be selling my Dura-ace parts. The RD is bad, but everything else is ok, albeit used. FD, crank (53/39), brakes, cassettes (2), Front and Rear hubs (laced to Mavic rims).

I pieced together a NOS 7700 group recently. It took me about 3-4 months of watching ebay and checking online close outs and cost a little over $900.00. Everything was new in box except the FD which was a take off. So it can be done for a reasonable sum, it just takes some patience.
Btw, I put it on a 1991 Paramount frame and it is a smooth ride.
Good luck,
Steven.

good luck on the Hunt. It took me a while to get all the parts for this build.
I had to settle for some used parts, partly because I got tire of looking for NOS or over paying on ebay.
If your frame is worthy hunting down a 25th annivers. edition of d/a would be ideal.
(but is any frame truely worthy)
the price can go down substantially if you go with downtube shifting

half of the group was nos stock
shift lever, FD, brake lever, crankset was NOS
RD, brakeset, cassette was used.
Bottom bracket is Ultegra NOS

Talking about Dura Ace (mine is 7410), I just need to replace a missing BB crankbolt fitting that has the Dura Ace lettering stamped on the press-fit piece. I'm missing the press-fit piece.
