Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those 2010's are nice, but they're not 2009's.

what's the weight on the 2010 S2? I'm looking to buy one. Trying to decide between the Focus and Cervelo.

Cervelo is screwed. Specialized puts out the bucks to pay for teams to take TdF 1 and 2. Giant grabs 3rd. Cervelo's Sastre gets 20th. Cervelo might make the fastest bike on the planet, or Scott, or somebody else, but Grand Tours are going to be dependent on who can spend the most to assemble the best riding teams. With the right supporting cast, Contador could take TdF with any of a half-dozen or more bike brands. If there wasn't a weight limit, and some co designed super-light and ultra rigid, and riders and teams had to randomizedly change bikes day to day, it could be the fastest, but you can't find that out. You have a basic conflict between what some bike designers WANT to do, and what racing rules allow. So the best bike, for somebody paying for their bike, boils down to what they can do on it (and if not in a sanctioned race, if it's 12 pounds, fuuun!)

Your lack of understanding of the whole pro sponsorship/marketing relationship is astonishing.

I come to this thread for bike candy and this is all I get?

On a side note, it appears the 2011 Cervelos will debut at Eurobike or Interbike. At least according to the internets. I want a S2 but I'm not buying a white bike.

This one fact is killing me now. It's not soon enough for a 2010 closeout deal, but the 2011s are still right around the corner.

Though, I don't mind the white.

Did anyone notice that whenever the S2 was pictured during the Tour coverage, it usually was the 2009 paint scheme? I saw a Cervelo ad yesterday that used the 2009 frame. Hopefully, 2011 brings some new and improved colors.

I'll predict red, white, and black.

Something should get leaked soon.

This is my 2009 S2, SRAM Red!

I took it to a local bikeshop and they were convienced that it was a 2010 model, when I told them no, it's 2009 they said "no no, it's got the cabel stops."
I also told them that the 2010 had the black paint scheme, they simply said "nah man, thats that project california stuff they are working on."
