Interviewed with Cannondale
Yesterday morning I sat in a conference room for almost an hour and a half with some folks at Cannondale. I was very impressed with everyone I met, extremely cool people. Part of me hopes they offer a second interview, part of me wants to stay where I am despite the low pay. The pay with Cannondale would be a little better, not really hitting what I wanted to start at to make up for the increased drive but the benefits package is amazing and there's room for advancement.
We'll see what happens. |
Good luck!

Don't forget your friends at BF when you get that friends and family discount!
Good luck... |
Was it a behavioral interview? Did they ask you what you rode now? Do employees get a discount?
Good Luck. |
What kind of job did you interview for?
|
Did you tell them that the CAAD9 is way overrated and that they sold out and don't manufacture anything in the USA anymore?
Then did you tell them that they are an Aluminum dinosaur in a Carbon world? Then did you start ragging on Canadians and hockey? Okay, I just saved you ten posts from the Anti-Cannondale bandwagon.:twitchy: |
Good luck

Good luck with it. I hope you get the job.
I would love to work in the bicycle industry. It be great to work in an industry that I like. However, I have heard that few companies in the bicycle industry pay much and I do not live anywhere near the big manufacturers that would pay. Unfortunately, I need go for the money even if it means hating what I do. I do live near Shimano and have tried to work for them before but haven't even been able to get a returned phone call. Maybe if I can place in the Tour of California, maybe then I could get a call back. However, I would have a better chance of getting elected to Congress than placing in a bike race. |
Remember, wait a day...then send a follow-up (thank you) letter. A much-forgotten step in the hiring process.

It's a brand new position that's supposed to help cut out some middlemen (and women). Warranty Tech Rep. Sounds exciting, right? I just want to get my foot in the door until I finish my degree and can slowly move up the ladder to a position that will allow me to ride more than I work.
They did ask what I rode, I even had the roadie in the back of the truck. They have a decent employee discount program, almost as nice as what I have set up at the shop I'm at now. I guess the Fuji Team RC will be for sale if I'm offered a position. I did learn that they will still be making the Lefty in Bedford, I guess that counts for something, right? |

Employee discount is always good.
Good luck! |
Good luck! Hope you get the job...always a plus getting paid to do what you love.

good luck! i had an interview with facebook up in the bay area and it seems ok. if i get the job and take it, i will be moving so i'm definitely going to look for a house where i can ride to work. everyone tells me that they're very bike friendly so that's great.
my current job is also bike friendly but the commute is a little longer than i'd like (18 miles) but at least it's 95% on a beach trail with no traffic lights. working for a bike company would be nice but at least working for a company that supports bike commuting is good enough for me. |
Good luck!

Warranty Tech Rep is the only position they're hiring for in Bedford. However, they are looking for 3 people for the new department. Each of the 3 will be designated a specific part of the country and Canada to work with.

The shop manager at the first bike shop I worked at actually did that for them. Would be a pretty sweet gig.
